My 3 year old daughter is albinistic and suffers from severe nystagmus and is getting surgery to try to correct it. She is very scared but my husband and I tell her it’s going to be fine, we will be there for her, etc. when she gets out of the surgery I’d like to reward her in some way. Any ideas?

ask her what she wants the most, she may want a toy or something, after the surgery, if she’s able to go to the toy store, take her and buy something really wanted by her, or if she won’t be able to do, you can buy it in advance and have it at home when she returns. You can decorate your house and make a welcome back party.
Or buy lots of balloons and put them in his room when she wakes up from surgery, the key is surprising her at hospital and show her family loves her lots.
My daughter had eye surgery at 22 months (for strabismus). The eye hospital gave her a bear, and otherwise, we just let her decide what it was that she wanted to do. And she got a lot of ice cream
Maybe let her pick out an animal or doll before hand to go with her to the surgery? And then it can be there when she’s done, too. If her surgery is anything like ours, there was a lot of sitting and waiting before the surgery, and it was good to have new toys to distract our daughter from all the strangeness.
Are there any activities that she absolutely loves? If they’re ok for after surgery, you could make it a day of doing the things she loves. You’ll want to be careful though, we couldn’t go anywhere dusty or do too much jumping the first couple of days after our daughter’s surgery.
Good luck!! I hope the surgery goes well.
