I always had perfect vision, I think I had better than 20/20 because I could sit in the back of the class and read things that people on the desks in the front couldn’t read and I could write letters on grains of rice and stuff but now my vision has gotten worse. I think I may just need glasses but over the past, idk a little over a year, I’ve been feeling really thirsty. It comes and goes though, it isn’t constant. I asked my mom if they had anything for it and when she finally asked down at the store they thought she was mentally impaired because you’re supposed to just drink water. But water didn’t help, I don’t think that I was actually thirsty, I just had that constant feeling of thirst.
Anyway, that comes and goes. But now I’ve got blurred vision. But I don’t want to think I have diabetes because there’s always something I suspect I have like PCOS, Celiac Disease, Hyperthyroidism, and many other ones. But I think my blood sugar came up weird on a blood test a few years ago but they linked it with something else or maybe it was white blood cells. Also, I’m always tired. I will go to bed at a normal time, sleep for 8 hours and barely be able to get up for school. I’ll come home from school and sleep 2-4 hours and then I’ll be exhausted after that and barely be able to get up. I lost a lot of weight randomly a bit ago but now it seems I’ve been gaining a little bit, it’s weird. I don’t think I’d have the overweight diabetes because I’m a few pounds from being underweight. Also, almost every year around the same time I get extremely sick to the point where I can’t leave my bed and I’ll just cough and cough and I’ll have a fever but they always did a bunch of blood tests and it wasn’t a flu or a cold but they could never figure out what it was
im 17 also and i thought that it got diagnosed earlier
oh also sometimes random parts of my body will go numb like my face did once and it was just tingly and it didn’t go away for like 10 minutes. it’s happened with all my limbs but mostly my cheeks and mouth
i also have dry itchy skin
well the weird thing is that i don’t actually pee all that much. i guess it’s more frequent than it used to be but this just comes in bouts. i don’t know if it smells i guess not noticeably. my mouth is dry no matter how much i drink but it’s not 24/7 it’s usually only when i’m thirsty
also i don’t have a family history of diabetes except my grandmother but she has the elderly kind of diabetes
i get the blurred vision weirdly too, i have to blink constantly to see ANYTHING sometimes and at other times i’ll see a little. it comes and goes too thats what i was talking about. i’m constantly tired but i meant that the thirst wasnt 24/7

How does your mouth feel – is it constantly dry, no matter how much you drink? Are you peeing a lot and does it have a funny smell?
If so, call your doctor’s office ASAP and make an appointment to talk about these symptoms. While you seem to discount them because you tend to think you’ve got whatever disease you’ve just heard of, that doesn’t change the fact that you’ve just listed all of the major symptoms of untreated type 1 diabetes. I’m not qualified to make a diagnosis, but, if you have developed type 1 diabetes, you need to get it diagnosed and start taking insulin very soon before you end up in the ER with a bad case of ketoacidosis.

Well, before I knew I had diabetes, I would eat as much as I wanted of any food, so I remember I had a few spells of blurry vision. I am also nearsighted, I have been nearsighted for many years, so I knew right away that this type of blurriness was related to something else. It was terrible because I thought that my contact lenses were dirty, so I took them of and wore my glasses and it was still the same, it looked like if I was walking into a cloud, it looked like fog all over the place. I went to take a nap and when I woke up I had my usual vision back, I wore my glasses and I could see normal. A few weeks later I went to the doctor and I was diagnosed with diabetes Type II. I am 32 years old and I was diagnosed just 6 months ago. I hope it helps. If you are really curious just bu a home glucose monitor at walmart, they have one that comes with a few test strips, check your glucose in the morning, fasting, and it should be lower than 100. Two hours after eating it should be under 120, that will give you an idea while you wait to see a dr. Good luck
